Dear All,
Nice to be back and write to you all - Greetings from Sweden!
Well, long time I haven't written - I will try my very best to write about the most important events, impressions from my trip ;)
Summer holidays this time started in Rome, the place where I always wanted to be, where I dreamt to study and live. Catching an early morning plane from Skavsta airport and heading to Rome on the 6th of June. The trip was fun, exciting, I already felt the mediterrenian fever, I started practicing my italian on the plane, just a warm up I guess. Entering Rome from Ciampino airport at first was a bit of a dissappointment, it looked very poor and it remined me of some parts in Albania, although quite far in the distance I could see some archelogical site, fortress remains - started reminding me of the Great Roman Empire! Great times in history!
Well, I was looking forward to reaching central station- Luciana was waiting for me, one of my cousins as well. I recognized dear Luci a mile away - as always looking 'cool' :) Well, it really felt like it was just a few days ago we didn't see each other, strange but true! As they say: Good friends never are apart, distance never matters! I was waiting for my cousin, and it was 3 years ago we met last, so oh yes we missed each other and may be we had some problems recognizing each other :) (I better don't say the story. right Luci :))
We reached at the hostel, had a coffee ('of course, what else?' many of you would say :)) and from there we hit the town! We had about 48 hrs with Luci and we were so eager to see and visit all the main attractions. Opening my book at times to get oriented and read some lines here and there to be remined of history. Of course I didn't shut up for a moment and 'poor' Luci had to bear with 3 girls who at times were speaking in albanian! Well, as about me it was the best time ever, old jokes, funny stories, speaking in italian with the locals and joking with one of the waiters- it felt just like Meds! What a difference from Sweden! Well, after a long day of walking, visiting Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Venezzia, Via Sacra, Coloseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona we had a good coffee break with some 'myami' cookies. Well, then the ladies and their lovely gentleman changed themselves and went out for some guess what: pizza pasta and basta :-) Well adventures at night, waiting for a buss that never came, asking people around to make sure we where on the right track, final destination was a nice restaurant where we had to hurry and make our order quick for it was closing soon. Well, after some wine I was singing and oh what a laugh - I guess you never heard me singing - Thanks be to God!
After an excellent long day, we returned home after midnight.
The next day started with a typical italian breakfast: capuccino and briosch :-)
We headed to the greatest temple of christianity, the biggest church and the smallest state - Vatican! Well, afterwards we're walking to Castello d'Angelo, along the river, reaching Piazza di Popolo, and having a good break at Villa Borghese. From there we walked a long one of the richest streets of Rome, full of elegant lovely restaurants, reaching Piazza Barberini.
From there we took bus number 492 (this bus goes everywhere,Madonna! ). That day was my cousin's B'Day so we tried to celebrate it in style.
After that we saw Luci off, and I spent another night in Rome.
Going to Malta was a excellent, near the sea, sun and love! World Cup fever - Wow great times! Lots of beer I had, you bet !
The most important day in Malta was my B'day, I was afraid this year I would be alone but not really, it was the best day, Tim was with me. I got this big bunch of flowers from dear Susi, plenty of phone calls from home, Luci and Andrey from Torino, sms just before midnight from Zs (I thought you forgot me .. hmm), emails and postacards.
Well, coming back to Sweden, it didn't feel good at all, I missed all the guys here, but no more job, no more house soon, so it just feels a bit unsaf;, on the other hand an adventure, looking for something new, a change and freedom.
After three weeks of lazying around in Malta, coming to Sweden involved me in all the sports, basketball, volleyball, tennis.
Understandble I had to stay the next day almost in bed - muscle pain :-) But now I am back to business!
This weekend we're planning to go to Finland for a short break during the weekend, nothing else really important - job hunting, finding accomodation and playing around - what about the polish - uff uff long story I will write later about this one ;)
Well, Dear All I have some photos to publish and I will do this in the nearest future, Enjoy reading my adventures!
I'll be back!!!
Love, Faro
